Our insurance-backed guarantee is underpinned by an insurance policy in the name of Network VEKA covering our liabilities under our guarantees.

WHAT IS THE INDEPENDENT NETWORK 10 YEAR INSURANCE BACKED GUARANTEE?

Every one of our local installers provide all Homeowners with a 10-year Insurance Backed Guarantee which means if your installation business seizes to trade we cover the costs of the work so you have ultimate peace of mind when you choose Independent Network.

WHAT IS DEPOSIT PROTECTION?

As part of our industry leading Insurance Backed Guarantee offering, we also provide deposit protection, which means if your installation business seizes to trade after you’ve paid your deposit, Independent Network will place your order with another local Member or refund the deposit if we are unable to continue with the sale. We do this because we trust our installers and we’re that confident that you won’t come across any problems or even need to activate your guarantee.

You may be thinking… ‘lots home improvement companies offer Insurance Backed Guarantees so why is yours any different?’ Not all guarantees are the same and when you’re making your decision to purchase you need read the small print and assess which one is right for you.

All Independent member companies across Britain and Ireland have pledged to uphold a series of strict professional standards, covering areas as diverse as installation, surveying and training.

However, the chain of quality goes back even further because every member is also committed to using only the uPVC extruded profile (the frame of your window) manufactured by VEKA.

Our guarantee works in three ways to ensure your complete peace of mind:

  1. First comes your installer’s product guarantee which lasts up to 10 years
  2. Then comes our guarantee which ensures that your product guarantee remains in force – even in the rare event that a member company has ceased trading
  3. Finally, we can even cover your deposit and/or staged payments your installer asks you to pay

  • Are the mechanisms for the windows guaranteed?

    All of our members supply hardware for all windows and doors and they will have their own guarantees for each product.

    Members of Independent Network are held to strict professional standards about the quality of product that they install and the way in which they work.  These standards are regularly reviewed to ensure that customers get the best experience possible and enjoy the highest quality products.  We are so confident in the quality of VEKA windows, doors and conservatory frames, that we provide a 10 year fully insurance backed guarantee for every installation.

    The Independent Network Insurance Backed Guarantee is provided through your installer and covers the VEKA windows or doors for 10 years.  In the unlikely event that your installer ceases to trade during the guarantee period, you remain covered for the 10 years through Independent Network.

  • What guarantee is available on windows?

    Members UPVC Windows are usually backed up with a 10-year insurance backed  guarantee which gives you complete peace-of-mind.

  • How safe is my guarantee?

    Every Independent Network member must offer every customer our comprehensive ten year insurance backed guarantee on installations of UPVC Windows, new doors, or Conservatories. This ensures that your installer's guarantee lives on, even in the unlikely event that your Independent Network member should cease to trade.

  • Are all insurance backed guarantees this safe?

    Not necessarily. Firstly, the guarantee is given by Independent Network rather than the installation company and secondly, our guarantee is supported by an insurance policy in our name (ING’s named under Network VEKA), which covers liabilities under the guarantees we give.

  • Does the guarantee cover my deposit or any instalments I may have paid?

    Yes, where a member asks for a deposit or stage payments, you will be offered a separate guarantee to cover these payments. These are also insurance backed and are intended to cover deposits and stage payments for up to 3 months from date to order.

  • What will the Independent Network Insurance backed guarantee pay out?

    Our guarantee will not pay more than the contract price you agreed with the original installer plus an amount for the surveyor’s charges. You agree to pay £100 per item.

  • Are there any restrictions of the guarantee?

    Yes, the guarantee is subject to a number of restrictions which are set out in full in the terms and conditions that can be found here.

  • What is Deposit Payment Protection?

    If you have paid a deposit and your installer goes out of business before starting work on your installation, Independent Network will either arrange for another installer to carry out the work or will pay towards the amount of your deposit. (Up to 25% of the installation or £10,000 whichever is lower).

    Independent Network is not able to arrange for another installer to carry out the work.

  • What is Staged Payment Protection?

    If you have ordered a porch, sun room or conservatory and paid one or more staged payments and your installer goes out of business before completing your installation, Independent Network will either arrange for another installer to complete the work or will make a payment towards the staged payments you have made.

  • What happens if my installer goes out of business after the site is prepared but before the roof and frames have been delivered?

    Independent Network will arrange for another installer to complete the work as part of your Staged Payment Deposit. If you have paid less than 50% of the contract price originally agree, by way of stage payments, you are responsible for paying the difference between what you have paid and the contract price or if you have paid more than 50% of the contract price originally agreed, by way of staged payments, you are responsible for paying 50% of that contract price.

  • What happens if my installer goes out of business after the products have been delivered but before the installation's complete?

    Independent Network will arrange for another installer to carry out the work as part of your Staged Payment Deposit. If you have paid less than 75% of the contract price originally agreed, by the way of staged payments, you are responsible for paying the difference between what you have paid and the contract price or you have paid more than 75% of the contract price originally agreed, you are responsible for paying 25% of that contract price.

  • What if Independent Network isn’t able to arrange for a member to complete my work as part of the Staged Protection Insurance?

    If you installer goes out of business after the site is prepared, but before the frames and roof are delivered the Independent Network will repay the total amount you have paid to that stage or 50% of the contract price originally agreed, whichever is the lesser.

    If your installer goes out of business after the frames and roof are delivered but before the installation is compete, Independent Network will repay you’re the total amount you have paid to that stage or 75% of the contract price originally agreed, whichever is the lesser.

  • How long do the Deposit Protection and Staged Payment Protection last?

    Normally 4 months from the date of order, the Staged Payment Protection normally lasts for 4 months from the date of order.
